Skim the article on boat swarm robots.

What are the advantages of using swarm robots?
What is the "reality gap"? What is the "reality gap" with the RCXs?

  1. 1. It can cover more ground and be in many places at once.
    2. "Reality gap" is used to describe how robots work differently in simulation over in reality. This can be vastly different.
    3. The reality gap for the RCX is the motors.

  2. -Swarms are robust and flexible and can be much cheaper and more effective than a handful of large robots.
-The "reality gap" is the difference between how robots preform in simulation compared to real life. The gap for the RCXs is the lack of calibration between the motors.

the reality gap is the difference between robots working with one another and them working in the real world.

    1. a swarm is fault tolerant and can be scaled to a task.
    2. the reality gap is the difference between how something works in a simulation verses in real life. the reality gap for the RCXs is the differences between what the program says and what the robot does.

    2. Even the program is right, the robot will do it in several random ways. In RCX, the same programing may turning different degrees.
